There were 8 biggest announcements at the Apple event

The First Month of Apple Intelligence in Beta: Is It Still Growing Stronger in China than in the U.S. iPhone?

The Action Button is new on the latest edition of the device, and there’s a Camera Control button which can be used for snapping photos. If you have a compatible device and you have the software, it will be available to download next week. The new iPhones are designed to take advantage of Apple Intelligence, but you won’t see many of these until the new operating system arrives in October.

The iPhone 16 will be Apple’s first mainstream phone to utilize Apple Intelligence in beta after an update coming in October. After previewing the software at WWDC, it was only available to Pro-level models of the iPhone. Apple did not review many of Apple Intelligence’s upcoming features at the time, but did show a new search feature called Visual Intelligence that would allow the user to search for information based on what the camera sees.

Last quarter, global iPhone sales were down 1 percent from the same time period a year earlier, though Apple still managed to rake in billions and beat overall revenue expectations. The iPhone’s drop in China, a key market for Apple, was more stark: Earnings results showed that iPhone sales in China declined 6.5 percent, significantly more than the 2.4 percent decline analysts predicted. Apple was once on the list of top five device sellers in China.

The 10th Iteration of Apple’s Wristwatch and the Biggest Display yet: Camera Control and Text Correction Feature

There’s a new button on the hardware. Camera Control. This allows you to make a light press that can be used to take a photo, long press to take a video or a hard press to take a photo without using user interface elements. If you press a double light press, you can move through different modes by moving your finger on the camera control button. On the Pro models, you can use this light press to maintain the focus on a specific subject.

The company says that the 16 Pro has better audio recording and video recording capabilities.

Siri and Writing Tools will use the AI features, which are integrated with ChatGPT — giving users the ability to rewrite, fix grammar and summarize texts, notes and emails, Apple said.

Apple Intelligence will roll out next month — only in U.S. English — with iOS 18.1, iPadOS 18.1, and macOS Sequoia 15.1, with more features to be added on later.

This is the tenth anniversary of the first iteration of Apple’s wristwatch. The company unveiled its newest — and slimmest — one yet Monday. The AppleWatch Series 10 has the biggest display to date.

Probing the Future of Audio-Aided Technology with the AirPods: The Case for an Ultra-Wise Camera, Hearing Test, and Hearing Aid

They feature a smaller charging case with a speaker which can make a noise when you are trying to locate them. Apple is bringing noise cancellation to the next-gen AirPods but they are more expensive. The cheaper AirPods model costs $129, while the version with ANC costs $179. They both start shipping on September 20th.

The company says that means they offer hearing protection, a hearing test and hearing aid feature. The hearing test and hearing aid features are still being evaluated by global health authorities.

The dual setup of the main camera and the new ultra- wide camera means that you can have four different shooting options, by way of a 2x crop mode and macro mode.

The iPhone 16 costs $799 and the iPhone 16 Plus costs $899 with the same built-in storage. Pre-orders for the phones will open on September 13th.

Later this year, Apple will make the AirPods Pro 2 available as an over-the-counter hearing aid. The new AirPods pro 2 comes with a feature that protects hearing and a clinical-grade hearing test. These features become available in a free software update in more than 100 countries and regions this fall.

Apple announced a sleek black finish and a titanium Milanese loop band for the watch during the event, but no major changes were made.

The new device comes in a polished aluminum finish in black, with matte options for rose gold and silver or a polished titanium finish that Apple says is 20 percent lighter than the Series 9. The Watch Series 10 starts at $399 and will become available on September 20th.

The Action Button in the Apple 16 lineup: A New Look at a New Feature that Automatically Searches for Things You Take Photos of

Yet Apple is also outfitting the iPhone 16’s Camera Control button with a new feature, called Visual Intelligence, which will automatically search for things you take photos of. Adding a concert poster to your calendar can be done with it, as well as snapping a photo.

Apple’s “It’s Glowtime” event has just come to a close. There were many other announcements at Apple today, including some exciting new additions to its watch and AirPods lineups.

Apple says the ceramic glass in these models is 50 percent tougher than the first generation of Ceramic Shield, and a new manufacturing process makes the body colors richer. The iPhone 16 comes in pink, teal, ultramarine, white, and black.

Every iPhone in this lineup has the Action Button, which Apple debuted last year. This replaces the Mute switch. You can customize the Action Button to toggle on a flashlight, a Shortcut, or some other setting. If you don’t like the way it functions, you can even set it to function exactly the same as the Mute switch.

Apple’s iPhone sales heats up: Where do they go? How many iPhones are there? The case of the 16 and 16 Plus

The rear cameras are now stacked vertically on a smaller pill-shaped camera bump. This arrangement is better suited for capturing spatial video, so we all forget about Vision Pro. It’s also just a fresh look for the regular iPhone, and Apple likes to throw one in every few years to shake things up.

The 16 and 16 Plus will be available next week starting at $799. Will the new buttons make them worth the upgrade? As soon as I can get my hands on them, I will find out.

A “supercycle” is what it sounds like: an extended period of economic growth in a boom and bust cycle. In this instance the phrase is being applied to a specific commodity. And those who track the tech market closely believe—or want to believe—that that time has come for iPhone sales to heat up.

The strongest iPhone unit year ever will be better than the previous record of 231 million in 2015, according to a managing director of Apple’s stock analysts, who tends to be bullish.

Morgan Stanley analysts stated in a research note prior to Apple event that the announcement wouldn’t move the market much but that they saw the potential for the company to do better than past seasonal trends.

The most important piece of technology in the world, Apple’s iPhone, saw its sales fall for four straight quarters before they regained lost ground during the holiday season. Roughly 1.5 billion people already use an Apple product in the world, and the broader market for phones is thought to be saturated. Upgrade cycles have lengthened. In the UK, Apple is required to support security updates on iPhones for at least five years into their lifespans. Even small changes to the iPhone’s repairability, due in no small part to aggressive Right to Repair advocacy in the US, have led to consumers hanging on to their old phones for longer.

This includes more slick photo-editing features, and a much more natural- sounding and interpretive voice assistant.
