There is a whole new look to the Apple Watch
The New Apple Watch Ultra 2: Sleep Apnea Detection, Health Algorithms, and the Prediction for September 20th
The new Apple Watch Ultra 2 comes in three different colors, the first time ever that Apple has offered three different colors. It will add support for sleep apnea detection and play music and podcasts via the watch’s speakers. It is the same model as the Ultra 2 and caters to more athletic types than Apple’s other watches. Apple has a rugged watch with a second generation ultra wideband chip and a last-gen S9 processor.
It is the highlight of this year’s watchOS that is sleep Apnea detection, a feature that identifies when you have sleep apnea and helps to prevent it. The tracking happens through the watch’s accelerometer. While it was expected that Apple would add blood pressure tracking on the watches this year, the company did not do this. The decision was likely related to recent legal action that forced Apple to remove blood-oxygen sensing from the new watches earlier this year after a patent dispute was brought by the company Masimo.
The Watch Ultra 2 got some new styling despite not getting a big update. A new black finish is also included, along with a black Milanese loop that is specifically designed for water sports. Users will get a lot of new features on the screen. It’s worth noting here, though, that even though this watch looks amazing, you might not want to lose blood oxygen sensing if you have an older model, which arrived with the Watch Series 6. Most of the exciting new updates, like Apple Intelligence and new comprehensive health algorithms, arrive on the watch via the phone app and WatchOS 11 anyway.
The black Apple Watch Ultra 2 continues to come in one configuration — 49mm, with cellular connectivity — and will launch on September 20th with either an Ocean Band, an Alpine Loop, or a Trail Loop strap. You can preorder it from Apple starting today for $799 or with a matching titanium Milanese Loop for $899.
New AirPod Colors and Other Additions to Your Favorite Music Companion, or What You Want to Get for Your Apple
It has new rounded corners that make it look much softer, along with a brand-new jet-black aluminum finish that has been polished with silicon nanoparticles to make it reflective. It’s still in rose gold and silver, don’t worry. It also features new hardware upgrades to make it thinner and lighter. Most notable are a new metal backing that integrates the antenna into the housing, and new thin speakers that can actually play music and podcasts.
There are a few new options for the AirPods from Apple. Apple has made active noise canceling possible in regular AirPods, but they are more expensive than the base model. There are new AirPods 4 that cost $129 without active noise canceling, and a version of AirPods 4 that cost $179 and do have active noise canceling.
Like previous models, Apple’s latest wearables will be available in both titanium and aluminum finishes. Depending on which you choose, you have the option of the following colors: silver, rose gold, jet black, dark gray, and a “natural” light gray shade. You can currently preorder the GPS model from Apple in the 42mm size starting at $399 or the 46mm size starting at $429. If you want to add cellular connectivity, you can preorder the 42mm and 46mm models for $499 and $529, respectively.
