There is a lot to know about the new iPhone 16 and the accessories that come with it
Preordered Pro Max and 16 Pro-level iPhones: An Update on the Company’s Intelligence Program and its Implications for Future Research
Apple has struggled with iPhone sales of late, which generate most of the company’s revenue. In May, Apple reported a steep quarterly decline in its iPhone sales, marking the biggest drop in iPhone sales since the height of the company’s pandemic-fueled production delays.
These latest offerings, including more details on its Apple Intelligence program, are a push by Apple to strengthen the company financially and to signal to consumers its heavy investment in artificial intelligence.
The Pro Max is getting the same 5x zoom camera with a “tetraprism” design, along with an upgraded 48M UltraWide sensor and 48MP fusion camera, as opposed to last year’s model. The Pro-level iPhones come in gold, black, white, and “natural” titanium (gray). The Pro Max costs $1,199, while the Pro 16 costs $999. Preorder them on Friday and they’ll be available in stores on September 20th.
The phones feature a physical camera control button, placed on the side of the phone, which Apple says allows users a one-click option to open the camera, take a photo, and start recording.
The 16 Pro also allows for videos to be recorded in 4K resolution at 120 frames per second and for better audio recording capabilities, the company said.
Features for Apple Intelligence: The AirPods Max update and the new Colors of the iPhones and Other Spectroscopy Devices
Siri and Writing Tools will use the AI features, which are integrated with ChatGPT — giving users the ability to rewrite, fix grammar and summarize texts, notes and emails, Apple said.
Apple says it will have more artificial intelligence features this year and in the months following. That means these features could arrive as soon as October, or they could arrive next summer or fall. Unfortunately, these are also some of the most eye-catching features coming to Apple Intelligence.
The Apple Watch Series 10 has the thinnest profile yet, along with a larger wide-angle OLED display that Apple says is up to 40 percent brighter when viewed at an angle. It’s also capable of detecting signs of sleep apnea by measuring breathing disturbances while you’re asleep. A built-in depth and water temperature sensor is on the new watch.
Apple also had a small update to its over-the-ear AirPods Max. The device is in a new colors and has a new charging port.
The company says that means they offer hearing protection, a hearing test and hearing aid feature. The hearing test and hearing aid features are in the works, but still not approved.
The iPad 16 and 16 Plus: Early Appearance at Apple Store Stores and Other Stores, and the “It’s Glowtime” Final Event
The iPhone 16 starts at $799 with 128GB of storage and the iPhone 16 Plus starts at $899 with the same built-in storage. Both phones are set to land on September 20th, with pre-orders opening on September 13th.
The over-the-counter hearing aid will be made by Apple later this year. A feature that protects hearing will be on the AirPods Pro 2, which is also getting a clinical- grade hearing test. These features become available in a free software update in more than 100 countries and regions this fall.
Apple introduced a black finish for the Watch Ultra with a titanium Milanese loop band that they say is designed for scuba diving.
The new device comes in a polished aluminum finish in black, with matte options for rose gold and silver or a polished titanium finish that Apple says is 20 percent lighter than the Series 9. The Watch Series 10 starts at $399 and will become available on September 20th.
Yet Apple is also outfitting the iPhone 16’s Camera Control button with a new feature, called Visual Intelligence, which will automatically search for things you take photos of. You can also use it to perform actions, such as snapping a photo of a concert poster and easily adding it to your calendar.
The final event of the “It’s Glowtime” series came to an end. While the iPhone 16 was the headliner of today’s showcase, Apple had several other announcements to share, including some exciting new additions to its smartwatch and AirPods lineups.
