According to an Egyptian and an American official with knowledge of the matter, talks between lower-level officials will continue for another three days. The negotiations with Israel and Hamas were said to be promising but not close to a deal.

A bipartisan majority of the Senate voted early this morning to approve a 95 billion dollar emergency aid bill forUkraine, Israel and Taiwan. House Republicans warned that the bill could never get a vote. Changes to border policy are absent from the package even after Republicans said they would not support a foreign aid bill without them.

Former President Donald Trump’s lawyers have asked the Supreme Court to put on hold a federal appeals court ruling rejecting his immunity claim in relation to his election interference case. Trump is accused of leading a conspiracy to cling to power after the 2020 election. His lawyers said Monday that they are making a case to the high court. The Supreme Court’s decision on whether he will face a trial might be the most important decision of his life.

The Daily Show host returned last night after nine years. He began the show by talking about the controversy regarding the advanced ages of both President Biden and Donald Trump.

Bob was the Morning Edition’s first and longest-serving host. Edwards joined NPR in 1974 during the Nixon impeachment and Watergate hearings as a newscaster. Susan Stamberg said his voice became part of millions of Americans’ morning routine as he hosted All Things Considered.
