The laptops have a 16-core Neural Engine that the company says is more powerful, as well as a built-in gpu that allows for mesh and ray tracing. The new MacBooks feature a 1080p FaceTime camera, three microphones, and support for spatial audio and Dolby Atmos. Both devices are less than half an inch thick.
The laptops come with different power sources. The upgraded versions include a 70W adapter as part of the price. The base model only comes with a 30 watt power amplifier and you can upgrade to a 35 watt or 70 watt power amplifier for $20 more.
Both models come with 8GB RAM, but you’ll have to pay an extra $200 for 16GB and $400 for 24GB. If you want to upgrade your storage to a lot bigger, you can do it for less than the cost of the base 512 gigabytes of storage.
Both laptops support up to two external displays when closed. They come in four colors: starlight, space gray, silver, and midnight, and they support faster download speeds thanks to the 6 GHz band and the wi-fi 6E. The anodization seal built into the shade should help reduce fingerprints, something that plagues the previous midnight models.

You can currently preorder the 13-inch MacBook Air directly from Apple starting at $1,099 with 8GB RAM and 256GB of storage. You can get it with a larger storage space, such as 512 or 1 Terabyte of storage, for a more affordable price. You can either buy it with the extra memory and storage for the same price or you can combine it with other storage options for a total cost of $2,099.

You can also pick up the 6.8-inch Galaxy S24 Ultra with 256GB of storage and 12GB of RAM at Amazon and Best Buy for $1,149.99 ($150 off).
