There were attacks in Russia that killed 19 people
As many as 20 people were killed and over 30 others were injured in a series of attacks in the region of Dagestan in south-western Russia on Sunday, officials said. Russia’s Investigative Committee said there were five perpetrators of the attacks including two sons and a nephew of a senior party official. However, no group has claimed responsibility for the attacks.

China’s Chang’e 6 probe, which landed on the far side of the Moon, has sent back its first samples of lunar soil to Earth. Scientists believe that the samples may confirm the Apollo-era origin story, that the entire Moon was forged quickly around 4 billion years ago. The near side of the Moon is full of craters from ancient collisions.
Biden linked the D-Day invasion to the Ukraine conflict
US President Joe Biden marked the 80th anniversary of World War II’s D-Day invasion that helped liberate Europe from Nazi Germany on Thursday. Biden said that almost 800 Americans died on Omaha Beach on June 6. “I see lots of similarities today with right before the beginning of the Second World War, when Hitler took part of Czechoslovakia,” he added.

An excavation in Spain has revealed the existence of a “black layer” ofMiddle Palaeolithic combustion structures at the Abric Roman rock-shelter. The study, conducted by researchers from universities in Seville and Madrid, analysed the structure with the help of high-resolution photoelectron microscopy (HMP). It was found that the combustion structures could be traced back to a period between 11,500 and 10,000 years ago.
