IFA 2023 Berlin Tech Show: Wireless Charging Standards for Mobile Warriors and BoostCharge Convertible Qi Pads to Stand and Stand By

Belkin is embracing the new magnet-enhanced Qi2 wireless charging standard with a pair of new products being announced at Berlin’s IFA 2023 tech show. There’s the BoostCharge Convertible Qi2 Wireless Pad to Stand (yes, that’s the name), which can either work like a traditional Qi pad or hold a phone upright while it charges — great for the iPhone’s new StandBy feature. There’s also the BoostCharge Pro 3-in-1 Wireless Charging Pad with Qi2, which is equipped with a pair of wireless charging pads (one 15W and one 5W) plus a USB-C port for charging a third device like an Apple Watch via an optional dongle.

Correction August 31st, 1:49PM ET: This article originally stated that all the products would be launching in September. This is incorrect. We have amended their launch dates above.

However, Apple hasn’t confirmed its plans on that front just yet, and we’ll find out soon if other manufacturers will update their devices for Qi2 or support the spec on new phones launching later this year, like the Pixel 8 series.

This 67W MagGo Magnetic Charging Station has three AC ports, two usb-a ports and 15 watt wireless charging on the magnetic front pad, and it supports 8 in 1 output on the desktop.

There were a lot of high-power batteries and chargers for true mobile warriors. There are a lot of new products on the show floor at the Berlin show, ready for people who aren’t carrying a lot in a backpack.

Apple’s iPad Pro is an iPad, and until Apple fixes things or opens up the operating system, you just aren’t going to get enough out of it to become a must-have, as per TechCrunch. The iPad Pro is also a very expensive iPad, which is great, but it’s still an iPad. Outside of a couple of specific cases, I wouldn’t tell you to buy this year’s iPad Air.
