Gwyneth is the winner of the ski collision case
Gwyneth Paltrow was slammed into the slopes of Deer Valley, Utah, during a 2016 ski collision
A Utah jury has found Gwyneth Paltrow not liable in a 2016 ski collision case. Paltrow was also victorious in her counterclaim against the man who sued her.
Terry Sanderson, a retired eye doctor, has sued Gwyneth Paltrow, an actress and founder of Goop, over injuries he says he received in a collision at a Utah resort more than seven years ago.
The jury heard testimony from several experts, as well as testimony from ski resort employees. Testimony from Paltrow’s two children, Apple and Moses Martin, was also read to the jury during the trial.
Sanderson’s attorney on Thursday asked the jury to consider his client’s brain injury and life expectancy, suggesting the jury award $3.2 million to Sanderson.
It is an issue of right and wrong and Steve Owens asserts that it is easy for Gwyneth to write a check and be done with it.
In his portion of closing, James Egan said that Paltrow wanted him off the mountain, but she should not have to pay for it.
The jury heard that the collision happened on the very first day of a trip to Deer Valley that she was on with Falchuck and his two children.
She said that she felt a body pressing against her back before the two skis crashed down together and that she heard a crash as she fell.
She didn’t ask about the health of the man after they collided and she stood on the mountain until he said he was OK.
“I got hit in my back so hard and right at my shoulder blades and it felt like it was perfectly centered and the fists and the poles were right at the bottom of my shoulder blades, serious, serious smack Sanderson said he had never been hit that hard. “All I saw was a whole lot of snow.”
A jury in Utah deliberated for more than 2 hours before concluding that Gwyneth Paltrow was the one who was slammed into on the slopes of the Deer Valley Resort.
Sanderson, 76, hung his head as Judge Kent Holmberg read the jury’s decision on Thursday afternoon. The 50-year-old actress gave a curt nod and a smile to her lawyers and the jury, but she remained expressionless.
“I am pleased with the outcome and I appreciate all of the hard work of Judge Holmberg and the jury, and thank them for their thoughtfulness in handling this case,” Paltrow added.
Over the course of the trial, jurors heard from science and medical experts, eye witnesses — including written testimony from Paltrow’s children — and the famous actress herself.
The hit-and-run: A lawsuit against the ski resort retiree, Gwyneth Paltrow, for $sin1$ $rm Flavor” Sanderson
Buhler thinks that people have gotten so used to Sanderson’s personality that they have pushed him away. “You lose everybody, your family, they’ll be there for you, and maybe the lawyers.” They’re just putting up with you.
Gwyneth Paltrow’s legal team maintained that she was the victim of both the incident at the ski resort and the legal battle that has dragged on for years.
Her attorney, Stephen Owens, also spent time grilling Sanderson about the severity of his injuries, questioning him about various trips and activities the retiree posted to social media after the so-called hit and run.
