Trump will speak to the crowd: I am your revenge

Is Trump Interested in Running for the 2020 Senate? A Call to Rep. Ron DeSantis, Attorney General Eric Holder, and the Leader of the Party

The Republican Party’s hopes of controlling the Senate in 2023 was dashed, and it is now locked in a battle for control of the House.

There are still several uncalled House races that will determine control. And while it won’t decide the Senate majority, the still-important runoff election between Raphael Warnock and Herschel Walker in Georgia won’t take place until December 6.

Trump is eager to launch his 2024 campaign for a variety of reasons, including, but not limited to, his desire to close off momentum for other contenders (most notably Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis) and, perhaps, to try to insulate himself from his own mounting legal problems. He also likely wants to change the story from the GOP blame game where he is facing significant criticism for his role in the midterms.

Instead, the Republican Party – thanks to Trump – will be thrust directly into the 2024 race, with the former president demanding endorsements and fealty from elected officials who are still in the midst of trying to figure out what the heck just happened last week.

The point is that Trump is about the same thing as anyone else. He is a leader of the Republican Party, but he does not prioritize the good of the party over his own good.

I declared in 2016 that I was your voice. I add that I am your warrior. I am your justice. Trump is going to say that he is for people who have been wronged and betrayed. “I will totally obliterate the deep state. I will fire the unelected bureaucrats and shadow forces who have weaponized our justice system. I will put the people back in charge of this country.

According to an excerpt of his speech obtained by CNN, Trump plans to say that he will steer the GOP toward a more isolationist posture – a position that puts him at odds with his former United Nations ambassador, Nikki Haley, who has already launched her 2024 bid, and several other potential Republican presidential contenders.

Trump is about to say that the party will never go back to a time when they wanted to give money to fight foreign wars and not cut benefits at home.

The final battle for the presidency: Donald Trump and the end of the last high-profile party in the United States (the CPAC 2018 slimmed-down)

Trump is popular at the annual conservative gathering. He was the first choice of nearly 70% of people who attended the CPAC. Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, who did not attend this year’s event, finished second with 20% support. The straw poll is not representative of the broader GOP electorate as it is limited to CPAC attendees.

The slimmed-down CPAC gathering will conclude with Donald Trump speaking, as the 2024 presidential race starts to take shape and several high-profile Republicans prepare their bids to block Trump from winning the party’s nomination for a third consecutive cycle.

“This is the final battle – they know it, I know it, you know it, everybody knows it. Either they win, or we win. If you put me in the White House, I will end their rule, and we will be a free nation again, Trump is expected to say.

He will call out “out of control monsters” in his speech as he pledges to crack down on illegal immigration and crime in major cities.
