There are at least six people injured in a shooting at Florida State University

The Seybold’s Account of the Orlando shooting at the Florida State University during the September 11 shooting incident ’til the next day’

Reid Seybold, a senior at Florida State, told WFSU that he was in class when the shooting happened. He said police escort people out of a barricade after someone barricaded the door. I don’t have an agency which is the scariest thing, I feel pretty good in crazy situations. He was worried about his friends in other part of campus but has been reassured that they are all safe.

President Donald Trump said at the White House he’d been briefed. It’s not a good thing. It’s horrible that something like this can happen.

FSU has canceled classes through Friday and told students to avoid the campus. The university said later it’s canceling all “athletics home events” through Sunday.

Founded in 1851, Florida State University is one of the oldest universities in the state. It has an enrollment of more than 44,000 students and about 16,000 faculty, staff and employees work on campus.

An FSU Law Student Says he’s sorry to see a gun go down: Sheriff-gunman kills two and kills six

They said no student should have to live in fear and be forced to cower behind desks because their classroom could be the site of the next massacre. When we saw classmates get shot down, we felt a pit in our stomach.

The law student who went to the high school where 17 were killed said on social media on Thursday that he didn’t expect gun violence to happen again.

“Then I’m in the FSU Law Library,” where he heard an alarm: “active shooter on campus,” Mr. Gallagher wrote on X. “No matter your politics, we need to meet — and something has to change.”

The final year of Florida State student Ilana Badiner told a reporter that she and 30 others hid in the student union basement during the shooting. She was a student at a school near a high school that was the scene of a mass shooting. She said her school had been placed on a no-fly zone.

“It was the same situation today, where people were just on the phones calling everybody and there were people crying,” she said. It’s terrible that this keeps happening.

“America is broken”: A Father’s Perspective on a “Six Minutes Security Emergency’ in Parkland, Florida”

In Parkland, 17 people were killed when a gunman, armed with a semiautomatic rifle and 300 rounds of ammunition, went on a rampage that lasted just under six minutes in a freshman building at the high school. Three of them were faculty members. One of the worst shooting attacks in American history resulted in 17 people being injured and calls for tougher gun control measures.

“America is broken,” Mr. Guttenberg wrote on social media on Thursday, pointing out that many of his daughter’s friends who survived the Parkland shooting were now seniors at Florida State. “As a father, all I ever wanted after the Parkland shooting was to help our children be safe. Sadly, because of the many people who refuse to do the right things about reducing gun violence, I am not surprised by what happened today.”

Jaclyn Corin and David Hogg, co-founders of March for Our Lives, a group led by students who survived the Parkland massacre, echoed Mr. Guttenberg’s criticism in a statement.
