The U.S. launched attacks on Iran and there are 4 things that have been said

State of Qatar and Iran’s sovereignty violated by the Revolutionary Guards in a possible attack on Al Udeid Air Base

A defense official not authorized to speak publicly about military matters told reporters in an email that al Udeid Air Base was attacked by Iran’s short range and medium range missiles. There are no reports of American casualties at this time. We are keeping a close watch on the situation and will provide more information as it becomes available.

A senior White House official said that the White House and the Department of Defense were closely watching the situation at Al Udeid Air Base.

In a statement released by the Foreign Ministry of Qatar, Majed Al Ansari said that the attack on Al Udeid Air Base by the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps was a “flagrant violation” of the state’s sovereignty. We affirm that the State of Qatar reserves the right to respond directly in a manner proportional to the nature and scale of this blatant aggression and in accordance with international law.” He said the base had been evacuated prior to the attack.

The agency confirmed that all three sites were hit in the attack. The extent of damage to the subterraneanFordo site was not immediately able to be assessed, the agency said, adding that Natanz and Isfahan had suffered additional damage after previously being struck by Israeli forces.

“Final battle damage will take some time,” Caine said, “but initial battle damage assessments indicate that all three sites sustained extremely severe damage and destruction.”

The U.S. Airstrikes on Iran — and What Might Come Next: The Truth Social Report of Sen. Mark Kelly and Rep. Mike Johnson

The strikes were meant to stop Iran from developing a nuclear weapon. The president said that the American assault was very successful in a Truth Social post.

While the reaction among politicians largely fell on party lines, it didn’t do so exclusively. Kentucky Republican Rep. Thomas Massie said Congress “has the sole authority to authorize war” and should have been called back from vacation before the attack.

About 40,000 troops in at least six countries in the Middle East are at greater risk because of that, and that was not the case here.

Iran wasn’t threatening the U.S. before the strike, according to Sen. Mark Kelly. He said that when there is a clear and immediate threat to the US, the commander-in-chief has a right to act.

Rep. Jim Himes of Connecticut, the highest ranking Democrat on the House Intelligence Committee, called the strike a “a clear violation of the Constitution, which grants the power to declare war explicitly to Congress.”

Many Democrats said that the Constitution was broken by Trump’s instructions to the military to attack Iran.

House Speaker Mike Johnson said Trump “made the right call, and did what he needed to do,” while Senate Majority Leader John Thune said Iran had “rejected all diplomatic pathways to peace.”

Iran’s government is weighing options after the United States launched a series of bombing attacks against Iran’s nuclear facilities.

Israel bombed Iranian nuclear facilities and other sites in June. Israel and the US have been fighting since that time, with deadly attacks happening again and again. The U.S. did not directly participate in the Israeli offensive until Saturday.

The US military operation was described by the Iranian Foreign Minister as an outrage, grave and unprecedented violation of the UN Charter and international law.

The Operation Midnight Hammer: Takeaway on the U.S. Airstrikes on Iran — and What Might Come Next (with a Press Release)

The mission, dubbed “Operation Midnight Hammer,” began at midnight on Friday when a group of B-2 stealth bombers took off from an Air Force base near Kansas City, Mo., according to Joint Chiefs of Staff chairman Gen. Dan Caine, who briefed reporters on Sunday.

The mission involved more than 125 aircraft and resulted in 75 precision guided weapons being dropped on the three locations, officials said. And they emphasized that this attack was against Iran’s nuclear program, not against its military or people.

Bunker-buster bombs describe a type of munition that can burrow deep into the ground before exploding and are designed for attacking fortified subterranean targets.

As the bombers entered Iranian airspace on Saturday, the submarine launched at least two dozen missiles at the nuclear site.

The strikes were denounced during a press conference by the Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi. “The war-mongering and lawless administration in Washington is solely and fully responsible for the dangerous consequences and far-reaching implications of its act of aggression,” he said.

Several top Israeli politicians welcomed the strikes. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu thanked Trump in a video message, while Knesset opposition leader Yair Lapid said Trump and the U.S. military “made the world a safer place.”

The U.N. Secretary-General said that he was horrified by the American use of force and that it was a threat to international peace.

In a Sunday afternoon post, Trump mentioned the possibility of revolution in Iran. “It’s not politically correct to use the term, ‘Regime Change,’ but if the current Iranian Regime is unable to MAKE IRAN GREAT AGAIN, why wouldn’t there be a Regime change??? MIGA!!!”

State Department Evacuation Measurements of the U.S. Embassy in Lebanon and Implications for Iran’s Nuclear Power and Nuclear Forces

The State Department doubled the number of emergency evacuation flights for American citizens leaving Israel and is evacuating nonessential staff from the U.S. Embassy in Lebanon, the Associated Press reported.

The U.S. forces are on high alert and ready to fight any Iranian reprisal or proxy attacks. The U.S. operates permanent military bases in several countries near Iran, including Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates.

The IAEA also said that Iranian authorities hadn’t reported a jump in off-site radiation following the bombings on Saturday, and that it didn’t expect there to be any health impacts on people outside the three sites.

Two independent experts analyzing commercial satellite imagery told NPR that the nation’s long-running nuclear enterprise is far from destroyed, adding that Iran likely still has stocks of highly enriched uranium.
