Several local landmarks have been destroyed in the Southern California fires

The Palisades Fire Department is closing: A warning warning on nightlife in the West Hollywood Strip and its intersection with Sunset Boulevard, the former ranch of Will Rogers

The California State Park and the former ranch of actor and radio personality Will Rogers, located in the Palisades, is currently closed. A note on its website said it has been affected by the fire.

There were trees burned at the site of the Getty Villa, a Greco-Roman art museum in the Pacific Palisades. The museum reported that collections and staff were so far unharmed and that fire and smoke mitigation plans were in place. Both the Getty Villa and the Getty Center, which is not in the current fire zone, will remain closed until at least Monday, Jan. 13.

The West Hollywood strip known for its nightlife and restaurant scene was gridlocked Tuesday by Los Angeles residents fleeing the Palisades area. Those on Sunset Boulevard were told to abandon their cars and walk to safety. The Los Angeles Fire Department later moved the abandoned vehicles to make way for firefighters. Sunset Boulevard is closed between San Vicente and Crescent Heights.

Hurricane-strength winds and red flag warnings have resulted in multiple zones being evacuated after multiple major fires in Southern California. There are five fires currently burning in the United States, four of which are in California.

The Empire Polo Club in Indio has not reported any closings. The club is close to the starting point of the Tyler fire.

The Warner Bros. Studios in Hollywood is closed Wednesday due to the fire conditions and strong winds.

Though not under mandatory evacuation, the Universal Studios theme park and the attached dining, shopping and entertainment plaza, Universal CityWalk, are closed Wednesday “as a result of the extreme winds and fire conditions,” the studios announced Wednesday morning.

The Hammer Museum at UCLA, a contemporary art museum, is also closed due to the nearby fires and severe weather warnings. The museum is located on the Los Angeles campus of the University of California.

The Rose Bowl stadium is not thought to be at high risk of being impacted by the fires. The sheriff’s department says the stadium is being used to evacuate large animals.

Theater Palisades, Pierson Playhouse: Officials said on their website that “all operations” had been suspended until further notice “owing to the serious damage sustained in the Palisades Fire.” Local news reported that the community theater, founded by three television writers, had burned to the ground.

Malibu Feed Bin, a local institution that has sold animal supplies and gifts since 1966 was destroyed by the fire, according to a post on social media. “With a heavy heart, I am writing this. The post said that the Feed Bin had been lost.

Reel Inn: A well-known seafood restaurant in Malibu, Reel Inn, posted a link on social media to a report in The Malibu Times, which said the restaurant had been destroyed in the Palisades fire. The restaurant’s owners said in the post that they are “heartbroken and unsure what will be left” after 36 years in the community.

The Pasadena Jewish Temple is a center. The synagogue in Pasadena, which dates back to the early 20th century, was damaged by the fire, but it was not known how much.

The motel, which had grown decrepit over the years, was acquired by the state park system in 2001. Officials with the state park system said that they had been planning to restore about 20 of its cabins for public use.

A bungalow style motel built in 1929 by William Randolph Hearst and used as a location in many movies over the decades was destroyed in the fire, according to California state park officials.

Will Rogers’s ranch house: The ranch house that the popular entertainer and movie star Will Rogers owned until his death in 1935 has been destroyed, according to officials with the California state park system.

Mr. Melvoin said the school was still closed for winter break, so there was no need to evacuate. He said that classrooms, bungalows, tennis courts and the baseball field had burned.

The school has frequently been featured onscreen, including in the film “Freaky Friday” and in the television series “Teen Wolf.” Among its alumni are the likes of will.i.am and J.J. Abrams, who are both known for their work in the arts, show business and sports.

Palisades Charter High School: The Los Angeles Unified School District’s Nick Melvoin said there was a fire at the independent charter school.

On Wednesday morning, fire officials estimated that more than 1,000 structures had already been destroyed. The Pacific Palisades and Malibu communities have been popular with people who desire to live away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Pacific Palisades is so close to the sun and surf lifestyle in California that the Beach Boys write about it in their song ” Surfin U.S.A.”
