There are a variety of Prime Day laptop deals
Razer Blade 18 ($14, WIRED): A 16-inch laptop with all you need for a work PC and a laptop
If you prefer a more stealthy PC that can double as a work laptop, this 16-inch machine is not for you. Fast-paced content can appear smooth because of the m16 R2 RIPS’ 240-Hz screen refresh rate. It packs Nvidia’s RTX 4070 graphics card so it can handle nearly any game at medium or high graphical settings, and while the battery life is not great while gaming, it’s surprisingly long-lasting when you’re on the clock.
This is the lowest price we’ve ever seen on our favorite gaming laptop. The Razer Blade 18 (8/10, WIRED Recommends) packs Nvidia’s RTX 4070 graphics card, though you can choose a more powerful card for more cash. A gorgeous build with a 18-inch MiniLED display and G-sync compatibility gives you a lot of raw power. It’s also one of the first laptops ever with a Thunderbolt 5 port for faster data transfer speeds. Do you want a bigger machine? The Blade 14 is on sale for $1,600 ($300 off). —Julian Chokkattu
Acer’s laptop names are not easy to understand. The model number here is the A315-24PT-R0UX, which is no less confusing but can at least be used to compare to other models. This is an upgrade to our favorite 15-inch budget laptop. It offers the best value of the 15-inch laptops we’ve tested, with an AMD Ryzen 5 7520U processor, 16 GB of RAM, and a 512-GB NVMe SSD. The display is not the best but it doesn’t strain your eyes. Interestingly, the title here says 16 GB RAM, as does one of the spec listings, but another says 8 GB of RAM, and it’s Amazon, so who knows what you’re going to get. If you end up with 8 GB, return it.
The WIRED had a good review about the Chromebook Plus 514, which is one of our favorites from the recent crop of powerful Chromebooks. It’s everything you need for everyday tasks like browsing the web, editing documents, and chatting with friends. The touch display on the keyboard feels great, which is unusual for a Chromebook. It’s not going to win any design awards, and there’s no backlit keyboard, but this is a lot of laptop for the price. It has been on sale for a few months at $320), but it’s gone down even further with the launch of Prime Day. The Chromebook Plus is on sale for $319, so you can get a bigger screen.
The MacBook Air powered by M3 isn’t vastly different from the one powered by M2. The same screen and ports, but with a notch at the top of it that has a webcam, and a 3.5-mm headphone jack. The M3 chip, which came out at the end of last year, isn’t a major leap from the previous processor, but it offers a nice boost in performance compared to the original M1. You can also use it with two external displays simultaneously, as long as you keep the lid closed (which is an upgrade from the single external display on older chips). It hits this price often, but we still think it’s a good deal if you’re looking for a lightweight laptop for everyday tasks.

Top 5 Prime Day Apple Deals on Our Favorite Gadgets: The Best Apple Watches Among All Time Available (And Why Its Not Available)
The Series 9 Apple Watch is our favorite in the guide to Best Apple Watches. It looks like the Series 8 but it has a few upgrades, including better performance and a brighter display. It comes with a feature called the Double Tap, that allows you to play music or hang up a call by pressing your thumb and index fingers at the same time. watchOS 11 will also be supported by it. so you’ll have access to new features like tracking health metrics at a glance via the Vitals app and measuring performance improvements with the new Training Load algorithm. Due to a patent dispute, Apple has been disabling the blood oxygen sensor on products sold directly through its stores. But this doesn’t apply if you purchase the smartwatch through third-party retailers like Amazon.

Low-Price AirPods Max ($8/10, WIRED Recommendations): A Very Low-Cost Bluetooth-enabled Audio System
Apple’s AirPods Max (8/10, WIRED Recommends) deliver excellent sound with a massive soundstage, rich bass, and fantastic noise cancellation. They have great build quality too, with a springy mesh headband and soft fabric earcups (that are also replaceable). The volume knob, which looks similar to the one on the Apple Watch, allows you to adjust the volume. We also love how well these headphones integrate with iOS devices—with the ability to switch back and forth between devices (like your iPhone and MacBook) without having to go through your Bluetooth settings manually. This deal applies to only the Space Gray colorway (for now), but it’s also the lowest price we’ve seen for these headphones. The other colors are on sale at Amazon for $449 ($71 off). They often pay this price but it’s still a good deal. However, it’s important to note that, according to rumors, it’s highly likely a new version of AirPods Max is coming later this year. But it looks like the only major change will be the addition of a USB-C port instead of Lightning. We suggest holding off if that is very important to you.
