The Asus Vivobook S 15: Pre-Order Form Factors and Pre-Preorder Prediction Warehousing with StoryCube
The Vivobook S 15 is Asus’ first device to come with its proprietary StoryCube app, which uses AI to sort, edit, manage, and export RAW photos and video files. Asus also claims the Snapdragon’s NPU power will speed up other AI workloads in applications like Windows Studio Effects and Cocreator.
The new Vivobook S 15 will have the same OLED display as the previous Intel generation (15.6-inch, 16:9, 2880 x 1620, 120Hz refresh rate, and 600 nits peak HDR brightness), but this specific version will have a thinner chassis and display bezels. The S 15 has either a 10-core X Plus or 12-core X Elite processor, but the base version has no dual core boost and does not have an integrated graphics card.
Both of the S 15 configurations have up to 1 Terabytes of onboard memory and 1 Terabyte of PCIe storage, and include two additional ports: a microphone combo jack and a HDMI 2.1 card reader. All of them have wi-fi and adjsy.
The Asus Vivobook is available to pre-order from select retailers, but will not be shipped until June 18th. The $1,399 version with 32GB of memory and 1TB of storage will be available only from Costco, but the $1,299 16GB / 1TB version will be available from multiple retailers. A Snapdragon X Plus model will arrive later this year, but there’s no word on how much that one will cost.
Microsoft Surface Event: the 6 biggest announcements: AI features within Copilot PCs and new era of PCs. Source: Microsoft Surface event: the biggest announcements
Microsoft just wrapped up its special event ahead of Build 2024, and it had a lot of exciting news to share. Along with the updates to the Surface lineup, Microsoft made some important announcements related to artificial intelligence, a new era of PCs, and more.
One of the major AI features available within Copilot Plus PCs is Recall. The new tool runs locally on your device and logs everything you do on your computer, allowing you to search for and retrieve the content you’ve interacted with. That makes it possible to uncover a conversation you’ve had in apps like Discord, or even a specific PowerPoint slide you were working on.
Microsoft is bringing Copilot to more areas of Windows 11. The AI assistant will be able to provide suggestions within the Settings menu, edit files within File Explorer, or write responses to notifications you receive.
Microsoft’s new Surface Pro — sans model number — swaps out the last-gen’s Intel Core Ultra processor for Snapdragon X Elite and Plus chips from Qualcomm. It’s up to 90 percent faster than the previous Surface Pro, and it comes with the option for an OLED display panel for the first time.
The Surface Pro starts at nearly $1,000 and is available in a variety of colors. It works with a new Surface Pro Flex Keyboard when attached or detached.
