South Korea’s Parliament is set to vote for a second time on an impeachment motion against President Yoon Suk Yeol, as authorities investigate allegations of rebelling over his martial law decree. Opposition Democratic Party leader Lee Jae-myung hailed the impeachment as proof that the people are owners of the country. Yoon rejected the rebellion charges, calling his martial law order an act of governance.
Texas sued a New York doctor who prescribed abortion pills
Texas’ Attorney General Ken Paxton has sued a New York-based doctor for providing abortion drugs to a pregnant woman who is from the state. A “shield law” in New York protects doctors who prescribe and send abortion pills to patients in states that have outlawed abortion. The state alleged the woman received a combination of two drugs that are generally used in medication abortions.
There are insurrection charges against the president in South Korea
South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol called National Assembly chief Kwak Yoon-soo after his troops entered the assembly building to enforce martial law, according to Kwak. He said Yoon told him to break down the door anddrag people out so that the National Assembly would not have enough lawmakers to overturn martial law declaration. Yoon declared martial law last week.

Turkey could play a role in shaping the future of a post-Assad Syria and has close ties with Hayat Tahrir al-Sham, the group that led the offensive against President Bashar al-Assad’s government, a report said. Turkey does not openly collaborate with H.T.S but maintains quiet lines of communication and influence. It will use this position to keep Kurdish power in check, the report added.
