Trump allies gained access to a voting machine and hired an IT firm to look for voter fraud, which didn’t exist, in rural Coffee County, where there was an effort to copy election data.
This is an essay written by a Morning Edition host. She was previously an NPR national correspondent covering race and identity and prior to that an international correspondent based in Cairo.
Upcoming Trump’s Georgia indictment: DA Fani Willis, kimchi fermentation and their relationship to Pagonis — A Story of Two Intersex Girls
The intersex advocate was raised as a girl. They didn’t know the real reason they didn’t get a period. They didn’t know the real reason doctors operated on them throughout their childhood. They were not aware that the surgeries weren’t necessary.
They discovered the truth after taking a gender studies class. They were intersex. It upended Pagonis’ world. They were put on a path towards activism by changing their understanding of their past. The book takes the reader on the same journey Pagonis lived. It’s filled with sadness, joy and triumph. They say they are done telling the story of their past after this book. From now on, they’ll only look forward. You can listen here.

An NPR Investigation of a Yogurt Made with Microbes: All 19 defendants are charged in Fulton County, the rest is with the federal district attorney
Why do some foods improve with age, while others spoil? NPR’s Pien Huang set out to find the answer by spending time with Chef Patrice Cunningham to learn how to make kimchi. Through the process, Huang came to appreciate the tiny microbes that transform cabbage into kimchi, milk into yogurt, soybeans into soy sauce, and so many more delicious things we enjoy.
It’s an appreciation that connects me and my fiancĂ©e. Kimchi is a big part of my diet as an Asian American, and his German family introduced me to sauerkraut. There are health benefits and science behind the wonder-inducing process of fermentation. You can read the story here.
Several individuals who allegedly participated in that plan are also facing charges, including former Coffee County Election Supervisor Misty Hampton and Cathy Latham, a former Republican Party official in Coffee County.
He says prosecutors need to show that these people were acting with a common goal and that they were engaging in a pattern of illegal activities in order to achieve it.
Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis has said she wants to try all 19 defendants together, which could pose significant logistical challenges to an already-complicated case.
Defendants could choose to petition the court to argue that they won’t get a fair trial as a group and ask for their cases be separated from some or all of the others, according to NBC News.
Stephen Gillers, a professor emeritus at the New York University School of Law, says they could try to get the case moved to federal court.
Gillers says a jury from a more conservative area would likely benefit the defendants, since the one in Fulton County is more liberal. Plus, he adds, it could delay the case for several months.
“Ultimately the federal court might send it back to state court, or federal court might keep it if the court concludes that the conduct alleged was under color of federal law,” he adds, predicting “a real fight over that … in the next two months.”
The first thing they would be required to do at that point is enter a plea and take their fingerprints and mugshots, which would be a first for Trump. The defendants can be charged together or individually.
