Amazon has a new Echo line-up
The Amazon Echo Show 5 and the Echo Pop Series – Overview and Preorders for June 7 & June 31 from Amazon e+e-
The Show 5 stand has a USB-C charging port that can also be adjusted to fit any phone or device. This will make it more useful as a bedside table device — although having a USB-C charging port on the Show itself would have been better.
Amazon is also giving its Echo Show 5 entry-level smart display a proper upgrade — after a very minor refresh in 2021. The $89.99 third-gen Echo Show 5 has a redesigned speaker system that Amazon says delivers more bass and clearer sound. The current Show 5 is one of the worst at hearing requests of smart displays and re-engineering the microphone array should make it more responsive to commands.
Below, we’ve rounded up all the details on the latest additions to the Echo line. All of the new devices are available for preorder through Amazon. The Echo Show and Echo Pop will be shipping on May 31 and June 7.
Amazon Echo Show 5: Towards an Efficient Environment for Home Automation, Home Automation and Home Automation/Host Management in the Smart Home
You can use the camera as a motion sensor and view it as a security device in the Amazon app, just like with the previous model. There is a shutter that blocks the camera in The Show 5, though the camera poses privacy concerns, and it’s popular as a bedside alarm clock.
If you prefer small smart displays over small smart speakers, Amazon has announced a new iteration of the Echo Show 5. The smart display features an updated mic array and a new speaker system, which Amazon claims should deliver clearer sound quality and more bass. It should also be 20 percent faster than the prior model, though we’ve yet to test the device, so we can’t confirm that. Most of the functionality should otherwise be the same, though, especially given the new Show 5 still comes outfitted with the same 5.5-inch display and a 2-megapixel camera for video calling.
The round, softball-sized Echo Dot is one of the cutest smart home speakers around. The new, Echo Pop, is more affordable than the old one. It is a great choice for surfaces with limited room like shelves, windowsills and bedside tables. There’s also fun colors like lavender bloom, midnight tea and charcoal that are available.
But it’s not coming to an Echo near you anytime soon. There is still a way to integrate the tech in a way that won’t cause chaos. There are some things that you don’t want to have to do in order to get a master’s degree, and that you don’t have to work hard for. “If you ask to buy paper towels, we need to get the price right, and we need to ship it to the right address.”
Part of this effort will be incorporating generative AI and large language models through its Alexa Teacher Model into the assistant, which is poised to bring a “dramatically different experience,” says Limp. This shift will be primarily about making Alexa smarter and more conversational but also about helping to harness the smart home more effectively, he says. The North Star is the Star Trek Computer. That now seems like a very tractable problem with the emergence of generative AI and Large Language Models. It seems like we have the tools to get there, it used to feel like a blue sky vision.
The same things can be said for other Echo devices: you can control your home, read books, and ask questions. It comes with support for the Matter standard, which means you can pair it with smart home gadgets made by companies that aren’t Amazon. The Echo Pop is $40.

Amazon’s newest Echo Buds lack ANC but feature a semi-open design that should make it easier to remain aware of your surroundings. They also support multipoint pairs.
On the front is a custom-designed directional speaker designed to provide full sound, while under the hood is an Amazon AZ2 Neural Edge processor for machine intelligence-based speech models. It has Eero built-in so you can use it to add up to 1,000 square feet of coverage.
Earlier this year, Amazon announced that Amazon Sidewalk—a program that uses Ring cameras and Echo devices to transmit wireless signals that other smart home devices can use—would open to all hardware developers. Anyone can make a smart home accessory, like a speaker or lawnmower, that can use Sidewalk to stay online.
