Trump makes an appearance in a New York court
Donald Trump’s Ex-president Became a Demonstration of Politism in the Light of Recent Investigations
Donald Trump lashed out with venom on Tuesday night, when he faced criminal charges and was confronted with a speech full of lies and conspiracy theories.
And there are increasing signs that this new reality – which will come with hefty financial commitments in legal fees and locks on Trump’s calendar – could be multiplied at a time when he’s already facing the intense demands of another White House bid.
Trump also went to attack the other legal threats still percolating, including an investigation in Georgia into election interference, a DOJ investigation into his handling of classified documents post-presidency and an investigation by the New York attorney general into the Trump Organization.
On the Justice Department investigation, overseen by Jack Smith, Trump said: “I wonder what it was prior to a change of prosecutor, who other than Jack Smith is worse than they are.”
Trump’s former lawyer, Ty Cobb, told CNN’s Erin Burnett that the developments represent a serious turn in the case for the ex-president. We knew the steps were under way, but we didn’t know the alleged results until today. These are very consequential.
All of these investigations are not being investigated by Trump. He described his behavior in Georgia as perfect. And he has lambasted the sealed indictment in New York, where he faces more than 30 counts related to business fraud, as an example of politicized justice.
On Monday, Trump made a big show of himself when he returned to New York. The snaking motorcade of black Secret Service SUVs to and from his private Boeing 757 in its sparkling new livery carried overtones of a presidential movement in a power play meant to send a message of strength.
He will return to his Mar-a-Lago resort and give a speech after the court appearance in which he is likely to proclaim his innocence and try to distract from the fact he is a criminal.
One criminal prosecution is enough. Trump hasn’t been charged in any of the other cases, but a multi-front defense in multiple cases would represent an extraordinary storm. The ex-president is able to dictate his political schedule and control his own fate because of this. When he was under scrutiny, Trump tried to undermine the accusations against him by relying on his huge popularity among Republican voters. Most GOP senators were pressured to vote against him in the impeachment trial, so that they’d pay back their career loans.
It is similar to the 2020 election when the will of voters prevailed, because Trump attempts to get votes thrown out and results changed were rejected by multiple courts because of the law.
Juan Merchan: a New York Supreme Court Judge who has been around for a decade and whose case against Allen Weisselberg
A request for broadcast cameras was turned down by the judge. Five still photographers will be allowed to take pictures of Trump and the courtroom before the hearing begins, however.
If anyone knows how to thrive in a media circus, it is Trump. The difference, perhaps, in this case is that he fears being part of a media circus that he can no longer control.
On Tuesday, when Donald Trump enters a New York courtroom, he will face a judge who has been involved in the past with the former president. The acting New York Supreme Court Judge is Juan Merchan.
He has sentenced Trump’s close confident Allen Weisselberg to prison, presided over the Trump Organization tax fraud trial and overseen former adviser Steve Bannon’s criminal fraud case.
Judge Merchan “was clear in signaling his judicial inclinations, which helped me tremendously in giving Mr. Weisselberg informed legal advice. As far as the Weisselberg matter is concerned, Judge Merchan was a man of his word. Nicholas Gravante, the attorney who represented Weisselberg, said in his email that he treated them with respect both in open court and behind closed doors.
“Tough” but ” compassionate”: When Weisselberg was sentenced by the judge, he told him that he would have handed him a much harsher sentence if he had not already promised him a five-month sentence.
Timothy Parlatore said in an interview that the judge probably will be fair, despite the fact that he tried a case before him.
His background: Born in Bogotá, Colombia, Merchan emigrated to the United States at the age of 6 and grew up in the New York City neighborhood of Jackson Heights, Queens, according to a New York Times profile of the judge. He was the first in his family to go to college. He received his law degree from Hofstra University.
Merchan launched his legal career in 1994 as an assistant district attorney in the trial division in the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office. He joined the state attorney general’s office, where he worked on cases in Long Island. In 2006, New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg, then a Republican, appointed Merchan to Family Court in the Bronx, and Democratic Gov. David Paterson appointed him to the New York State Court of Claims in 2009 — the same year he began serving as an acting New York Supreme Court Judge.
Donald Trump’s alleged crimes against a black man: a case study in New York after arraignment-hearing
The criminal charges against Trump were denounced by him at a crowd of supporters Tuesday night.
Todd Blanche, Trump’s new lawyer, talked in court on Tuesday instead of a rejoinder from Trump. He said Trump was frustrated, upset, and believed that there was a grave injustice happening with him being in this courtroom.
“Defense counsel, speak to your client and anyone else you need to, remind them to not make statements that are likely to cause violence or civil unrest, and also refrain from making statements that are likely to cause violence or civil unrest,” he said. Please refrain from making comments or engaging in conduct that could be seen as threatening to the safety or well-being of any individuals.
But once Trump was able to jet away from his native New York and back to the friendly confines of Florida, the former president reverted back to victimized campaigner.
He called the other prosecutors who have been investigating him and who are black racist. Trump’s called Bragg that, too, and an “animal.” Bragg is also Black.

Donald Trump and the Mar-a-Lago Obstruction Case: How Donald Trump Has Lashed Out to the Old Tactics After Ararraignment Hearing
This wasn’t about adding voters, this was about locking down who already is with him. The problem for Trump is that the more his politics have become about him, the more he’s liked by both Democrats and independents.
That means it’s in the middle of the Republican presidential primary. Right now Trump is the front runner for the GOP nomination again. But that would mean a strong possibility of Republicans backing someone with pending criminal charges to advance to a general election.
At this point, Republicans seem perfectly OK with that. In that same NPR poll, 8 in 10 Republicans have a favorable opinion of Trump, and three-quarters think he should be president again.
Republican pollster Sarah Longwell, who is no Trump fan, found during one of her focus groups last week that, for the first time, not a single person said they would vote for Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis over Trump.
Trump’s numbers have increased with the GOP since he called the cops on them. GOP presidential candidates who are scared of offending the base have been boxed out by him. According to Trump’s campaign, he has raised more than $7 million since the indictment.
The Attorney General is a wingman of Jack Smith and the weapon that will make this look like a water pistol will be launched soon in the Mar-a-Lago obstruction case.

Apparently, Trump is trying to get his campaign stolen by the Russian-Russian telenovelerator. Trump can’t do it, but he can do it
And that’s what he needs to do because over the last three election cycles, his brand has proven toxic in competitive states and districts — the precise places Republicans need to win to take back the White House.
The Atlanta District Attorney is attempting to indict Trump over a phone call he made with the president of Ukraine, Trump said.
Finally, Trump went on to condemn New York Attorney General Letitia James’ investigation into the Trump Organization saying she, “campaigned on ‘I will get Trump.’ I will be there to get him. This was her campaign. I’ve never tried to run for office. I will get him. Her name is Letitia James,” he said.
Near the end of his comments, Trump criticized the Manhattan District Attorney for his charges against him in New York.
