Gwyneth was in court while the trial began
The 2016 Ski Accident in which Terry and Gwyneth Paltrow were reportedly Stripped by the Unstable Person at Deer Valley Resort
Seven years ago at Deer Valley Resort, Terry and Gwyneth were on a beginners slope and Gwyneth crashed into Terry causing several serious injuries and then abandoning him.
According to the countersuit, the person struck her on the back while skiing with her family in Utah. She was hit with a full body blow. Ms. Paltrow said that she was angry with the person. The person apologized. Even though it was still morning, she quit skiing because she was so upset.
Sanderson had initially sued Paltrow for $3.1 million dollars, but later amended his complaint and is now seeking in excess of $300,000 in damages, according to court documents.
The judge gave instructions to the jury Tuesday and the attorneys for the two sides introduced themselves to the court before opening statements began.
The trial is expected to last about one week. It is not yet known if Paltrow will take the stand, but her attorney told the jury they would hear from family members who were skiing with her at the time of the incident.
There was testimony from a clinical doctor who had treated the man who is suing Gwyneth Paltrow in relation to the 2016 ski accident.
Paltrow’s attorney Stephen Owens told the jury that Sanderson’s claims that the actress bolted from the mountain after ramming into him were totally fabricated.
Defending the Loss of a Lossy Actor, whose name is Jack Sanderson, by filing an oblate countersuit
“You’re going to feel sorrow for [Sanderson] but that’s not why you’re here. You’re here to figure out if someone negligently crashed into someone or if no one did,” he noted.
Meantime, the Oscar-winning actress and entrepreneur filed her own countersuit about a month after Sanderson in 2019. In it, she recounted the events of the day, blaming him for the crash. She said she felt a full body blow when he jumped into her back. Paltrow said that she was angry and he apologized.
On Wednesday morning, Paltrow’s attorney Steve Owens raised an objection to a still photographer in the courtroom transmitting a photo of her. Judge Kent Holmberg agreed it was a violation of the court’s decorum order, explaining still images of the proceedings should “follow the mic.” The reporter’s camera was taken and the judge told them not to use it again.
Before a lunch break, radiologist Wendell Gibby testified that Sanderson “deteriorated” after the collision and stopped doing many of the activities he did prior to the incident.
In May of last year she first saw him and described him to have a variety of symptoms, which included cognitive issues, fatigue, mood and personality changes.
During cross examination Paltrow’s attorney James Egan questioned Fong as to whether it was possible that Sanderson’s symptoms could have been due to something other than the crash.

She said people would describe him as a very fun loving person. He liked people, dancing, and outdoor activity.
In testimony that at times turned emotional, Sanderson Grasham, who lives in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, said a year and a half after the crash, she noticed her father’s “processing speed” appeared to have changed.
“First of all, he wasn’t engaged with anybody,” she said. He had taken himself to a secluded area. That was my first real slap in the face of there’s something terribly wrong.”
The actress and Goop founder said on the day of the collision with Sanderson she was skiing with her two kids, now-husband Brad Falchuk and his two children. The collision took place on the first day of their trip to the resort, Paltrow said.
