Men’s Sweet 16 set and women’s NCAA tourney upsets as March Madness continues

The Cardinal, the Owls, and the Boilermakers: What have they learned from their victories in the NCAA Tournament? A story about how the Cardinal beat an Ole Miss player

There have been upsets, Cinderella runs and brackets busted in this year’s college basketball tournament, but some of the higher seeds have handled their business well and avoided any potential banana peels.

The Cardinal were the first No. 1 seed to be knocked out of the tournament after they lost to Ole Miss.

The Cardinal had a player with 20 points. Brink had a chance to tie it at 49 with one minute to go, but Ole Miss answered with five straight points to win the game.

“I’m a dreamer, and I try to be a dream merchant for my players. But how cool is it to take down someone that you admire [in Stanford coach Tara VanDerveer]? Like, that was pretty freakin’ cool … so I’ll never forget this.”

The Fairleigh Dickinson Knights who upset the top-seeded Boilermakers in the opening round of the NCAA tournament lost to the ninth-seeded Owls in the second round.

The Knights came roaring back and took the lead in the second half after Florida Atlantic led for most of the first half. The Owls took over with five minutes to play and broke the game open.

Owls guard Johnell Davis led scoring with 29 points, while Demetre Roberts’ 20 points kept things close for Fairleigh Dickinson, but it wasn’t enough in the end.

The Florida Atlantic Owls and the Tennessee Volunteers: How much do we know about football? How did you think of Laura May, the coach at Florida, when she had played rugby?

The No. 9-seeded Florida Atlantic Owls have flown through to the Sweet 16 and will now take on the fourth-seeded Tennessee Volunteers with an upset in mind.

May said that she felt bad because she combined two sports. “There’s Australian rules football and then there’s rugby, and I should have known that, but it was the first thing that came into my mind.”

The coach said that he would say it in a complimentary way. The legend of Coach Barnes hasn’t changed. When I was at Florida they were the same way and it was difficult to score against them.

“It doesn’t feel real, still,” Miami forward Lola Pendande told reporters after the win. “When we were done with the game, I was like: ‘Oh, my God, I can’t believe it. We’re here. We are really here.
